Hurray – time to get your cameras out!

The RSPCA Young Photographer Awards competition launches today (Tuesday 28 May) and you’re all invited to join in the fun!

We’ve got some amazing prizes lined up, so why not give it a go this year? You might discover a new talent or just a happy hobby. Go on – pick up a camera (it doesn’t have to be a super-duper posh one) and see what happens.

Which category is for you?

There’s a category for everyone, so see which one suits you:

Under 12s

12 – 15 years

16 – 18 years

Pet Personalities – try and capture the character of a pet that you know

Making Life Better – take a photo that captures your feelings on how animals make life better

Portfolio – take five fabulous shots, linked by a great idea, location or theme

Don’t forget to make a note of the closing date – Monday 26 August 2013 – so you can send your entries in plenty of time. So go on, “pic” up your camera and get snapping!

Super ceremony

If you’re shortlisted, you will be invited to a glittering awards ceremony on Thursday 19 December 2013 at The Tower of London (the Beefeaters and ravens will be waiting). You’ll get to meet the judges and…. the winners will be announced!

To find out loads more, take a look at the YPA website.

Oh, hello there. I'm Leonardo. Don't call me Leo. I love a good mystery - that's why I'm your man when it comes to lists and reviews. I just love to snoop around! That's how I ended up getting my antlers caught in a football net all those years ago. I'm just fine now though.

Hi woof, if you’ve been shortlisted for YPA you would have already received a letter. So I’m sorry if you haven’t got one but the 2014 competition opens next May so you can try again!
