Did you enjoy watching the six part ITV series, Give a Pet a Home?
The programme saw six celebrity volunteers: Peter Andre, Denise Lewis, Chris Kamara, Coleen Nolan, Julian Clary and Kimberley Wyatt, helping out at RSPCA Birmingham Animal Centre. They got involved in everything from assisting with operations, to cleaning out kennels and walking dogs.
In each weekly episode, hosted by Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden, the celebrities promoted a different animal for rehoming, and members of the public could apply to adopt the featured pet. It was a great success as all 51 animals found their new forever homes!
There was even a reunion during the series – Blade the dog was spotted on the show by his owners who had lost him months ago and he was able to return home to them. This highlights how important it is to microchip your pet!
Although the show has finished, hopefully animals all over England and Wales will benefit from the boost to rehoming that the show will bring.
Have you and your family ever adopted a rescue animal?
