Marmosets are rescued from the pet trade and rehabilitated at Monkey World

The RSPCA and Dorset’s Monkey World help rescued primates.

In the summer, a new enclosure was opened at Monkey World in Dorset for small primates that have been rescued from the pet trade. Boasting 14 warm indoor bedrooms with tunnels leading to seven large natural enclosures, the impressive structure was jointly funded by RSPCA supporters and Monkey World.

The RSPCA has worked with Monkey World for more than 20 years, because they can provide the marmosets and other small primates that we rescue with the specialist care, nutrition and environment they need.

Now, rescued marmosets have a place where they can return to good health and form closely-bonded social groups, similar to how they would in the wild.

Why not visit Monkey World, it’s great!

Hello my name is Sarah. I put together animal action magazine (with the help of Dougal, my gorgeous cockerpoo pooch!). I also have two cats - Coco and Tom. Dougal LOVES Coco, but is a bit scared of Tom. He knows what Tom's claws can do! I love all animals so working for the RSPCA is perfect for me. I can't wait to start talking to you all over this brilliant blog! 🙂
