Did you know that rabbits are social animals – just like us?

So, they need to be with friends. But, sadly, over half of the rabbits that are kept in the UK live alone!

How much do you know about rabbits?
How you can help

Rabbit Awareness Week (RAW), which is from 18 to 26 June 2016, is all about changing this and inspiring owners to consider suitable friends for their single rabbits. And what’s the best way to do this? By encouraging re-homing from animal welfare centres, like the RSPCA, of course!

Also, during RAW thousands of vet practices are offering free healthcare checks for rabbits, so if you haven’t taken your rabbit to the vet yet now is the perfect opportunity to get them checked by an expert. For lots more info on Rabbit Awareness Week, check out the RAW website.

Did you know?
  • A wild rabbit’s territory is about the same size as 30 tennis courts!

  • A rabbit’s teeth grow continuously.

  • A baby rabbit is called a kit.

  • Rabbits only sweat on the pads of their feet.

Hello, I'm Christine and I'm part of the team who work on the Animal Action magazine. I've been at the RSPCA for quite a while and just love being part of such a great organisation. My most favourite animals are dogs and I have a soft spot for Westies.
