Make a cute animal straw for your cool summer drink!

Straws

What you need
  • Pencil
  • Coloured card
  • Coloured paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Googly eyes (optional)
  • Straws

What you need to do
Tiger1

1. First decide what animal you want to make to decorate your straw. We’re going to start with a tiger – draw the shape of the tiger’s head on a piece of orange card.

Tiger2

2. Cut scraps of black paper to make the strips for the tiger’s face and his nose, mouth and ears. Glue the pieces of paper in place.

Tiger3

3. If you are using ‘googly’ eyes (available from craft shops) glue them in place. If not, cut two small circles of white paper and two smaller circles of black paper and glue them into position.

Tiger4

4. Cut a narrow strip of paper to fit across the back of the tiger’s head. Glue down each end, leaving a slot for the straw to poke through. The straw should fit snugly so that the tiger’s head doesn’t slip up and down.

Ta-dah! Now you can enjoy your summer drink!

Be more creative

Why not try making another jungle animal to go with your summer drink? Maybe a monkey, a lion, a colourful bird….
