It had been nearly a year since Amanda Smith’s beloved cat, Dusty, had died and the family decided it was high time they found themselves another pet… or maybe two!
“We wanted to adopt two kittens,” says Amanda, who is editor of the RSPCA’s magazine for grown-ups, animal life. “We have two children so it was important to find a pair who would be happy in a busy household!”
Tiny tabby brothers
After a successful home visit – yes, even RSPCA staff need one! – the Smiths were given the go-ahead to choose their new pets. They headed straight for RSPCA Patcham Animal Centre near Brighton, where it was love at first sight.“As soon as we saw eight-week-old Tiger’s tiny tabby face peeping out, we fell in love,” says Amanda. “And when we saw his brother, Bertie, we knew we’d found our pair!”
The kitten brothers settled in straight away and love playing indoor football, chasing feathers and curling up on a lap. Aren’t they cute?!!
“They are absolutely perfect and we couldn’t be happier,” smiles Amanda.
