Five-year-old Murray is tennis-ball mad

Murray, a handsome bulldog being cared for by RSPCA South Godstone Animal Centre in Surrey, is a tennis ball fanatic – so staff decided have a bit of fun with some Wimbledon predictions…

Game, set and snatch!

Gentle giant Murray was given the option of four green tennis balls – one for each of the top four men’s seeds: Andy Murray, Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal – and he picked Swiss champion Roger Federer for the 2017 title!

Manager at RSPCA South Godstone, Darren Parish, says: “Murray just loves chasing and fetching tennis balls so we thought picking the Wimbledon winner would help keep him occupied while he waits for his paw-fect home.

Ball boy

“Even though Murray went for the ball labeled for Federer, we actually hope his namesake, Andy Murray, will take home the trophy for the third time this year, and also that this lovely dog will bag himself an ace home soon, too!”

“Murray has a heart of gold,” adds Darren. “He’ll make someone a wonderful ball boy! He’s very affectionate and loves spending time curled up with people – as long as they don’t mind a bit of slobber!”
