Non-stun slaughter: Our concern is solely about the animals

There was an amazing response to the British Veterinary Association petition calling for:

  • an end to non-stun slaughter in the UK;
  • meat products to be clearly labelled by method of slaughter.

We’re opposed to slaughter without pre-stunning, a practice that can cause suffering to millions of farm animals. Over 118,000 people signed the petition which was debated in parliament in February 2015.

Get involved in Farm Animal Week

Chicken Coop at Carnaby Street during Farm Animal Week

The Kinks sang about it, The Simpsons visited it, Austin Powers lived in it. And yesterday, for one day only, Carnaby Street became home to the Chicken Challenge!

This iconic location was the backdrop for the launch of Farm Animal Week 2014. A giant chicken coop came to town, and was duly filled with staff, volunteers and passers by, all raising awareness of the limited space in which millions of chickens have to live.
