16 of our biggest achievements in 2016!


Every day our inspectors have been working around the clock to rescue animals in need. Our vets have been treating them, our animal centres have been caring for them and our volunteers and supporters have been with us every step of the way.

There’s no such thing as an average day at our 24-hour emergency call centre!


Here at the RSPCA we love animals. That’s why we get up every morning – to protect, defend and care for the animals who need us most.

In 2016, we investigated a whopping 149,604 complaints of alleged cruelty.

Our inspectorate, animal welfare officers and vets all do their best every day to help animals. But they wouldn’t achieve the same scale of success without our emergency call centre.

Peanut’s Progress: rescue, rehabilitate…rehomed!


On 24th May, an animal collection officer was called out to rescue an 18-month old lurcher who had been left for dead at the side of the road near an Essex lorry depot. This is the story of her rescue, rehabilitation and eventual rehoming.
